Cestari and Willow merino are perfect for active toddlers. Both of these yarns are very strong and do not pill or felt easily. They are still wonderfully soft and comfortable yarns to wear -- perfection!

All of the yarns I carry are soft enough for a newborn. The perfect yarns for a newborn would be my Aran Blue-Faced Leicester or Gaia Organic Merino. Both of these yarns are silky soft and very warm. They do pill and felt somewhat easily, so if this bothers you I don't recommend these yarns for older children or adults who move around a lot.

The answer to this depends on the size you are making (or having made for you) and the pattern that will be used. The best thing to do is to check your pattern for yardage requirements, or if you have a WAHM knitting for you ask her how much you will need. As a general rule you will need 2 (4oz) skeins plus a 2oz mini skein (a solid colored skein to use for the cuffs and waistband). Larger sizes may require more and for a newborn size you will probably only need one skein plus the solid mini-skein. If in doubt, buy more! You don't want to end up not having enough to finish your project.

No, I do not dye custom colorways.
Do you keep a customs list for knitted items? TOP
If you contact me to custom knit something for you I may have time to do so. If I don't I would be happy to keep your email and contact you when I have time to knit for you. As a full time mom and yarn dyer I don't have much time to commit to custom knitting, but I really enjoy it and will take orders as often as my schedule allows.
